Aug 7 - Fasting That Makes Room to Hear

TODAY'S FOCUS

As believers worshiped and fasted, the Holy Spirit spoke and gave direction. Their fasting was not merely about sacrifice; it created space for listening and obedience.

TODAY WE CARRY BEFORE THE LORD

We pray for spiritual hunger in every generation of Calvary. May we hunger for righteousness, Scripture, prayer, worship, holiness, and the presence of God more than entertainment, ease, or constant activity.

LISTEN AND RESPOND

What appetite or distraction has been dulling my hunger for God?

Am I fasting only from something, or am I intentionally turning toward God?

What is the Holy Spirit inviting me to pursue more deeply?

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, quiet the competing voices around us and within us. Create in us a deep hunger for God and His righteousness. Remove distractions that make it difficult to recognize Your prompting. Speak clearly concerning our lives, our church, and our assignments. Give us willingness to obey when Your direction requires change, sacrifice, patience, or release.
